Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing

Jay Preston has served as EVP of Sales and Marketing at Milestone since 2012. Jay is an experienced technology sales executive having worked with many Fortune 500 clients throughout his 20 years in the industry. Jay joined Milestone following a six-year term at Cisco (NASDAQ: CSCO) where he served as a Director in the Services Sales Organization. In this role, Jay worked with many large Silicon Valley enterprises, including Kaiser Permanente, Google, and Symantec. During his tenure at Cisco, Jay earned the Chairman’s Club Award—a distinction reserved for the top 2% of Cisco sales executives personifying leadership, teamwork, innovation, and customer satisfaction.

Jay began his technology career at Quantum Corporation as part of Quantum’s inaugural MBA Rotation Program where he held several operational roles across the company over a two-year period. Jay has extensive early-stage company experience having served in various sales and business development roles at ONI Systems (acquired by CIENA) and Panasas, Inc. Jay has broad international experience with a particular focus on China, having led various initiatives to build partnerships and drive sales.

Jay leads Milestone’s Sales and Marketing functions and has also held various operational roles during his tenure. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biological Engineering from Cornell University and a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management from Stanford University.
